LAY DAY CALLED FOR MANCORA PERU CLASSIC

MANCORA, Peru (Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007) – Event organizers at the Mancora Peru Classic have called competition off for today due to the smaller one-to-three foot (0.5 metre) waves and inconsistent conditions.

"The surf has dropped a bit in size and we're looking at some fairly lengthy lulls between sets so we'll be calling competition off for today," ASP Head Judge Richard Porta said. "It's the first day of the waiting period and we're looking at a possible bump in size over the course of the week so we'll be back tomorrow to make the call at 7am."

When Round 1 competition commences, the Mancora Peru Classic will see the ASP Top 17 face off in the rippable lefthanders of Mancora.

With three former and reigning ASP Women's World Champs in Chelsea Hedges (AUS), Sofia Mulanovich (PER) and Layne Beachley (AUS) in the draw as well as 15 other world-class shredders, the Mancora Peru Classic is set to deliver incredible action throughout the week.

Next call will be at 7am tomorrow for a possible 7:30am start.

The LIVE webcast, event information, photos and videos will be available via www.aspworldtour.com
