CONTESTABLE CONDITIONS SEE ROUND 2 UNDERWAY AT MANLY

MANLY, Sydney (Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007) – A two hour wait for conditions to improve at Sydney's Manly Beach this morning, proved worthwhile when an outgoing tide and light onshore winds saw contestable waves take shape for more ASP Women's World Tour action, on Day 3 of the NAB Beachley Classic.

The first of the elimination rounds, Round 2, gets underway at 10am which sees former ASP World No. 2 Melanie Redman- Carr (AUS) pitted against Megan Abubo (HAW) and Caroline Sarran (FRA) in the first heat of the day.

Heat 2 follows with World No. 6 Rebecca Woods (AUS) taking on World No. 7 Amee Donohoe (AUS) and World No. 14 Claire Bevilacqua (AUS). Only four surfers will progress through this round.

Organisers will reassess conditions after Round 2 with the possibility of running either Round 3 or the Teams' Challenge, later in the day.

The NAB Beachley Classic runs from 9- 14 October, 2007 and holds a prize money purse of US$ 100 000 as well as 20% bonus ASP ratings points.
