JEFFREYS BAY, South Africa (Monday, July 16, 2007) – The Billabong Pro Jeffrey's Bay, stop No. 5 of 10 on the Foster's ASP World Tour, will not run today. Small waves and a forecasted bump in swell later in the week has prompted event officials to call a lay day today, Monday, July 16, 2007.
Two heats of Round 3 remain. The first features Bede Durbidge (AUS) vs. Rodrigo Dornelles (BRA), the second Bruce Irons (HAW) vs. Adriano de Souza (BRA).
According to official Billabong Pro Jeffreys Bay surf forecasters Surfline.com, a new swell looks like it will hit JBay on Wednesday, build throughout the day and stick around through Thursday morning. Only one full day of competition is needed to finish the event.
Another call on competition status will be made tomorrow at 7am local time.
