JEFFREYS BAY, South Africa (Thursday, July 19, 2007) – After careful deliberation, Billabong Pro Jeffreys Bay event officials made the call to hold off competition for the day. Although there are some decent waves coming into the Supertubes lineup, contest director Mike Parsons is confident that there will be more contestable conditions later in the week.
The event, the 5th of 10 on the Foster's ASP World Tour, has three more days in which to run one full day's worth of surfing.
One South African, one Brazilian, three Americans, three Hawaiians and seven Australians remain in contention to win the Billabong Pro JBay crown. Another call on competition status will be made tomorrow at 7am local time.
