MANCORA PERU CLASSIC QUARTERFINALS HIT THE WATER AT 11AM

MANCORA, Peru (Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007) – The Quarterfinals of the Mancora Peru Classic are schedule to hit the water at 11am this morning in contestable one-to-three foot (0.5) metre waves at Mancora.

Amidst conflicting swell forecasts, and with seven heats remaining in Mancora Peru Classic competition, event organizers and competitors have opted to run the Quarterfinals today before assessing the conditions for possible Semifinal and Final starts.

"We have a few different reports coming in as far as swell goes," ASP Women's World Tour Manager Brooke Farris said. "The girls have decided to surf the Quarterfinals today, as the conditions are contestable before make a call on the Semifinals and Finals. Quarterfinals will hit the water at 11am."

First up will be a world champion affair with reigning and seven-time ASP Women's World Champion Layne Beachley (AUS) squaring off against former ASP Women's World Champion Chelsea Hedges (AUS)
