RIP CURL PRO SEARCH CHILE TO CROWN A CHAMP TODAY

ARICA, Chile (Thursday, June 28, 2007) – The Rip Curl Pro Search Chile, stop No. 4 of 10 on the Foster's ASP World Tour, will endeavor to wrap up proceedings in the 3 to 4 foot (one to one half metre) waves on offer at Ex-Isla Alacran today.

"We'll be starting competition today at 7:45 am with hopes of running the six remaining heats and crowning a champion," ASP World Tour Head Judge Perry Hatchett said. "This is one of the glassiest mornings we've had yet and we're going to take advantage of the conditions while we can. The swell is projected to pick up slightly throughout the day and with the tide dropping, conditions should only get better."

Quarterfinal 1 was held on Tuesday, June 26, with Andy Irons (HAW) advancing as the Rip Curl Pro Search semifinalist over Joel Parkinson (AUS). Quarterfinal 2 featuring World No. 1 Mick Fanning (AUS) vs. 2006 ASP Rookie of the Year Bobby Martinez (USA).
